Law students joined the Youth Diplomatic Forum 2025

In today's world, where new humanitarian challenges and international crises arise every day, the role of youth in shaping the future is becoming more important than ever. This is especially noticeable in Ukraine, which is currently going through a difficult stage. That is why the participation of law students in the Youth Diplomatic Forum 2025, which took place on October 22-23 in Kyiv, was not only an opportunity for professional growth, but also an important contribution to strengthening the humanitarian voice of our state.

The forum brought together over a hundred young people from all over Ukraine who seek to join international processes, support humanitarian initiatives and influence decision-making. The event was organized by the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, a humanitarian organization that makes efforts every day to help those who need it most. For two days, students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of humanitarian diplomacy, learn about its key role in modern conditions and master the skills necessary for future professional activities. The opening of the forum began with discussions about the role of youth in international processes and how students and young professionals can influence decision-making in the field of protecting populations affected by conflicts.

The speakers paid special attention to humanitarian diplomacy as a practice of advocacy and negotiations aimed at ensuring access to aid and protecting human rights. For law students, these issues became a logical continuation of their studies and an opportunity to see how the acquired knowledge works in real international relations. The subsequent program was built on practical interaction and consolidation of skills. Participants took part in parallel laboratories, where they worked out models of negotiations on humanitarian access, learned to counteract disinformation and discussed the role of youth in the reconstruction of the country. Trainings on public speaking and diplomatic protocol - components that form a professional lawyer and negotiator - were no less important.

A separate element of the program was a large-scale game-simulation of diplomatic processes, during which students applied theory in practice, working to protect specific humanitarian interests. However, the Forum became not only an educational platform, but also a space for establishing cooperation. Networking sessions, interactives and a diplomatic dinner gave participants the opportunity to get acquainted with representatives of state institutions, experts and like-minded people from other universities. Such contacts can develop into joint initiatives and projects aimed at restoring communities and developing humanitarian policy in Ukraine.

Participation in the Youth Diplomatic Forum 2025 became an important step on the path of professional development for law students. They not only gained valuable knowledge and practical experience, but also realized their role in global processes that determine the future of the state and society. The Forum showed that young people are ready for responsibility, dialogue and active participation in solving the most complex humanitarian challenges of today.
