On November 11, 2025, a guest lecture by American lawyer, volunteer, and founder of the Build Ukraine Democracy organization, Eric Putzig, on the topic "Law Enforcement Activities in the USA" was held at the Faculty of Law of the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. During the meeting, the lecturer spoke about the specifics of the work of law enforcement agencies at the federal, state, county, and city levels, explained the differences between police officers and sheriffs, outlined the key functions and specifics of the activities of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and others. Students of 1st-3rd years of specialty 262/K9 "Law Enforcement Activity" actively participated in the discussion, asking questions about the organization of the service, training, and ethical standards of police officers in the United States. At the end, the students thanked Eric Putzig for an interesting, informative, and interactive lecture that allowed them to deepen their understanding of the work of the American law enforcement system and its values.

On November 1-2, the final round of the 3rd Yulia Shevchenko National Debates on Criminal Law was held at the premises of the High Anti-Corruption Court. Twelve teams participated in the debates, comprising 35 participants from various universities in Ukraine. The Faculty of Law of Lesya Ukrainka National University was represented by Sofia Kotelchuk. The judges in the debates were: Oleksiy Horokh, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law of NAUKMA; Andriy Fortunenko, attorney, partner in the dispute resolution practice and head of the business protection practice of AVELLUM; Iulian Munteanu, attorney in the criminal practice of the law firm Riyako&Partners The victory was won by the team "EGVI", Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Sofia Kotelchuk and her team advanced to the quarterfinals. The competition also had a charitable purpose. After all, 30% of the funds collected from organizational contributions will be transferred to the family of the deceased defender of Ukraine Yulia Shechenko. Yulia Shevchenko is a postgraduate student of the Yaroslav Mudryi National University of Law, the winner of the "Anti-Corruption Landing" project, an employee of the NACP, who actively helped law students. She died on July 30, 2023 in the Zaporizhia direction, defending Ukraine from Russian invaders.

On October 30, 2025, a seminar was held at the Faculty of Law of Lesya Ukrainka National University on the topic "The Loss of Effect of the Commercial Code of Ukraine: Legal and Economic Consequences". The main provisions of the Law of Ukraine "On the Peculiarities of Regulation of the Activities of Legal Entities of Certain Organizational and Legal Forms in the Transitional Period and Associations of Legal Entities" dated January 9, 2025 No. 4196-IX regarding the corporatization of management in legal entities based on state and municipal property, new mechanisms for controlling the use of state and municipal property, features of the regulation of the legal status of enterprises, new approaches to regulating the property basis for ensuring entrepreneurial activity, and also outlined the expected positive consequences and possible difficulties of the legal and economic nature of the reform carried out in the conditions of martial law in the country. The seminar was held as part of the work of the student scientific problem group "Current issues of organizing and implementing public procurement and activities in the field of economic management in Ukraine" (leaders - Professor Andriy Dukhnevych, Associate Professor Larysa Shevchuk, Associate Professor Maria Sokol).

FACULTY OF LAW About us The history of legal science and education at Lesya Ukrainka Law School at East European Law University is closely linked to the founding and establishment of the University. Initially, three departments were taught at the faculty: the theory and history of state and law; political science; history of philosophy. The first teachers of legal disciplines were mainly legal practitioners: LI Milischuk, OM Fidrya, JG Matskevich, VG Lonchuk - judges, V. Kurenda, O. Kidiba - prosecutors, A. S. Sukhomlin - Deputy Prosecutor of Volyn Region, OM Vinokurov - Deputy Head of Justice Department of Volyn Regional State Administration, SF Safulko - Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, VA Yelov - lawyer, head of the private law firm "Vitalina" and others. The first dean of the Faculty of Law was appointed Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor Victor Lvovich Penko, Deputy Dean - Senior Lecturer Mykola Artemovych Kravchuk. In 1994, the Faculty of Law received a license from the Ministry of Education of Ukraine to train specialists in the field of law training in the specialty "Law". Order No. 16-K / B of March 20, 1995 established the Department of Legal Disciplines. By the same order, the first Doctor of Laws in Volyn, Professor Dolezhan Valentin, was accepted to the position of Professor, Head of the Department of Legal Disciplines. He is known as a well-known scientist, a wonderful person and a dedicated worker who has made a significant contribution to the formation of the Law School. In 1996 the department opened a correspondence department and postgraduate studies. The increase in the number of full-time students, the opening of the correspondence department caused changes in the provision of the educational process, and therefore, on October 3, 1997, by order No. 64-K / In the Department of Legal Disciplines of the Law Faculty was reorganized and two departments were created on its basis: public law and private law . The Head of the Department of Public Law was appointed Doctor of Law, Professor VV Dolezhan, and the Department of Private Law - Candidate of Law, Associate Professor SF Vasilyuk. In 1999 the candidate of law, associate professor Vasilyuk Stepan Feodosiyovich was appointed dean of the law faculty. The Faculty of Law trained specialists in the program of higher legal education institutions of Ukraine, and since the words “lawyer” and “legal” were used in official documents and texts of normative acts, on November 18, 1998, the decree No. 77-K / B (based on the decision of the Volynsky Academic Council Lesya Ukrainka State University of November 4, 1997 (Minutes # 5)) Law Faculty was renamed to Law School. Міжнародність: Перетворення факультету на привабливий центр для іноземних студентів та дослідників, використання міжнародних практик підготовки для спеціальності «Правоохоронна діяльність». Вплив на суспільство: Позиціювання факультету як експертного центру для органів влади та громад, та правового просвітництва. 4. ЦІЛІ ТА НАПРЯМИ РОБОТИ НАПРЯМ 1. НАВЧАННЯ ТА РОЗВИТОК СПЕЦІАЛЬНОСТЕЙ Загальні цілі для всіх спеціальностей: Оновлення освітніх програм з акцентом на право ЄС та цифровізацію. Розвиток soft skills (стресостійкість, комунікація, лідерство). Впровадження сучасних методів викладання (симуляції, кейси). Спеціальність «Міжнародне право»: Мета: Ліцензування та запуск спеціальності «Міжнародне право». Заходи: Розробка освітньої програми з акцентом на право ЄС, міжнародний арбітраж, інвестиційне право. Поглиблена підготовка студентів на двох іноземних мовах. Створення «Міжнародної перекладацької лабораторії» для роботи з документами ООН/ЄС. Акцент на подвійні дипломи та моделювання міжнародних організацій (Модель ООН). Спеціальність «Правоохоронна діяльність»: Мета: Підготовка фахівців нового формату для реформованих правоохоронних органів. Заходи: Побудова навчального процесу на засадах дуальної освіти з прямими партнерствами з НАБУ, САП, поліцією. Впровадження курсів з кіберкриміналістики, OSINT, роботи з Big Data. Інтеграція європейських стандартів досудового розслідування та практики ЄСПЛ. Включення модулів з професійної психології, етики та спеціальної фізичної підготовки. НАПРЯМ 2. НАУКА ТА ІННОВАЦІЇ Ціль: Розвиток факультету на регіональному, всеукраїнському та міжнародному рівні, як центру розвитку науки та інновацій. Заходи: Заснування тематичного наукового центру. Активний пошук міжнародних грантів. Публікації у провідних світових виданнях Scopus, Web of Science, Spinger. Підтримка молодих вчених та фахового журналу «Історико-правовий часопис». НАПРЯМ 3. СЛУЖІННЯ СУСПІЛЬСТВУ Ціль: Позиціювання факультету як осередку правової допомоги та просвітництва. Заходи: Масштабування роботи юридичної клініки Ad Astra 2.0 для допомоги ВПО, військовим, громадам. Запуск просвітницьких онлайн-проектів (подкасти, блоги). НАПРЯМ 4. ІНТЕРНАЦІОНАЛІЗАЦІЯ Ціль: Інтеграція у глобальний освітній простір. Заходи: Розробка англомовних освітніх компонентів (особливо для «Міжнародного права»). Активізація участі у програмі Erasmus+. Залучення іноземних викладачів та студентів. Залучення іноземних лекторів до викладання на факультеті. НАПРЯМ 5. УПРАВЛІННЯ ТА ІНФРАСТРУКТУРА Ціль: Створення сучасного, безпечного та інклюзивного середовища. Заходи: Цифровізація управління освітнім процесом. Модернізація бібліотеки та створення просторів для колаборативної роботи. Впровадження енергозберігаючих технологій. 5. ОЧІКУВАНІ РЕЗУЛЬТАТИ Синергія: Три спеціальності посилюють одна одну, створюючи унікальну освітню екосистему.
