Professional Development School for Criminal Law Lecturers

On February 3-5, 2025, Vinnytsia hosted the Professional Development School for Criminal Law Lecturers “Topical Issues of Criminal Law: Present and Future”, organized by the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University in partnership with OSCE Projects in Ukraine.

Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University was represented by the Head of the Department of Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Yulia Fidria and Associate Professor Zoryana Zaradiuk.

The lecturers of the school were recognized scholars, members of the Working Group on the Development of Criminal Law of the Legal Reform Commission under the President of Ukraine: Yuriy Baulin, Mykola Khavroniuk, Viacheslav Navrotskyi, Yuriy Ponomarenko, Natalia Gutorova and Oleksiy Gorokh.

The main focus of the school was to discuss the key aspects of drafting the new Criminal Code of Ukraine. In addition to the intense scientific discussion, the teachers had the opportunity to learn about innovative methods of teaching criminal law, deepen their pedagogical competencies, and master the skills necessary for a modern teacher.
